What We Do

Education as a tool for empowerment

We are transforming Africa's beauty and hair industry one youth at a time, equipping young people with skills that build dignified, self-reliant livelihoods.

How we create opportunity

Three connected commitments move talent from training to a dignified, sustainable income.

Skills Development

In Kenya, youth unemployment remains a pressing challenge, with rates as high as 18% and more than one in four underemployed. Our vocational beauty and hair training transforms this narrative, equipping youth, especially women, with practical, in-demand skills in hair, skincare and makeup artistry.

Employment & Entrepreneurship

We use education as a powerful tool for empowerment. By equipping youth with income-generating skills in hair, makeup, and skincare, we enable financial independence and confidence. Our graduates transform their own lives and uplift their communities through job creation and entrepreneurship.

Financial Inclusion

Research guides everything we do, from designing relevant training programs to measuring real-world impact. Using data and industry insights, we ensure graduates gain the skills employers need, and we track outcomes like job placement, income growth and financial inclusion.

One of the most practical ways into the economy

Kenya's beauty and personal care market is no longer a fringe category. It is a fast-maturing sector and a dependable income pathway for thousands of households, especially for youth and women who can learn, practice, and begin earning without years of formal schooling or high start-up costs.

When skill quality rises, so do earnings

Much of the sector still operates informally, which keeps talented people stuck at the low end. If beauty is going to function as a true ladder out of low income, progress must be measurable. As skills advance into recognised grades, monthly earnings can more than double, turning a first job into a lasting career.

The job has gone digital, and so has the income

Across East Africa, influencer-driven behaviour now shapes what people buy, and short-form video on platforms like TikTok and Instagram drives discovery. A “beauty pro” is no longer just a salon employee.

As core skills shift toward technology and new ways of working, continuous upskilling has become essential for the beauty sector, and central to how we train.

We deliberately integrate training and employment

Through our Lintons Academy graduate placement program, every learner gains apprenticeship and mentorship with our partner salons, spas, and employers, giving them invaluable insider perspective. We are expanding dual apprenticeship programs that pair hands-on training and direct industry exposure with the skills today's beauty economy rewards, so graduates can build an audience, grow a customer base, and earn independently.
